Mar. 30th, 2019 11:59 pmA little ways outside the plaza, it's a peaceful day, the snow's melting, and spring is beginning bit by bit.
But it's not as peaceful as it might seem.
It starts with an odd snapping sound.
Followed by several more.
Two wisps of flame form in the air, then fire, bright and orange, intense and swirling around, forming the shape of a great bird, who screeches and spreads its wings upwards. then it collapses inwards as the two points on its wings touch, forming into a fire ringed portal to Somewhere Else.
The sound of a motorcycle is heard briefly before it comes flying through the portal, glowing and trailing similar fire that dissipates quickly behind it. The rider quickly realizes this isn't where she's meant to be--and she hauls the bike into a screeching turn that slings mud in her wake, trying to make for the portal before it dissipates.
Unfortunately for her?
She zooms right through it as it does, doing nothing by spreading little wisps of fire. Not passing through the portal as she intended.
She stops the bike just past the portal's former threshold.
"Well."
"Shit."
